Speaking of Automation, it means developing or generating devices that would help in giving control to any instrument or machines

So any machine we see, whether cars or computers or any other machines includes designs that helps in terms of device being able to handle properly.

As a Mechanical Engineer, your main focus is on designing and manufacturing machines. Machines needs to be designed in a way to be user friendly, this is where automation helps.
As a Mechanical engineer you could be eligible to work in all industries that manufactures machines, whether related to automobiles or computer etc.

say for eg, designing cars or automobiles.
As an engineer you have used your expertise in terms of building and testing the vehicle. and also its repair and maintenance through appropriate systems and tools. Cars are loaded with protection gadgets like the side airbags, disappearing fold down seats, gas electric hybrids and many more. These designs needs to be developed by someone and needs to be manufactured too, depending on the cost and user friendly of a novice person. Such is the work and idea of an automation engineer, who designs the means of safety for the machine and its user.

Though this part is covered in your course, but of course there are courses which are provided in the market. Automation engineering is also a degree available in the engineering domain. But you could opt for CADD course or computer software related courses to help you in terms of designing. Or else you could opt for a masters degree in Automation designing.

Choice is yours.

Choose wisely.
Wish you all the very best....
