Hello My Dear...

You being an Electrical Engineer, you definitely have good opportunities in construction or infrastructure sector if you learn the required industry relevant skills. I am not talking about soft skills or computer skills, but I am very much atalking about the skills relevant to an Electrical Engineer like you. I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for your fantastic and genuine career query.

My colleague here Ms. Swati Dhingra has very nicely adviced you however I would like to give my part of advice since I am involved and interact with engineers everyday.

You are very right when you say that apart from academics there are some more things which need to be learnt so as to get an easy and certain placement job. However please remember that there is nothing 'easy' as you believe, it can be made wasy only by your efforts in the right direction and not other wise.

I would like to strongly recommend you to learn Construction Project Management througha full time course. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical are the three engineers without which no construction or infrastructure project can be completed and commissioned and handed over. Therefore you as an Electrical Engineer have a vital role to play in the construction industry. This skill is very much in demand but industry is not able to get trained professionals in construction project management.

Construction industry today requires 10 lakh project management professionals and that too annually. I would recommend you to aim for being one of the 10 lakh project management professionals by learning Cosntruction Project Management in a post graduate course after your engineering. I would say that as per the current industry scenario, going into a job immediately after your graduation will be of a trouble to you since you will low paid, low designation and uncertain career grwoth. To avois all these three, you should do a PG course in Construction Project Management may be from one of the Institutes of repute. One is Samvit School of Infrastructure Business located at Pune. www.samvitinfra.edu.in

Best Luck My Dear...
