My question to you here is, what was your role at HDFC bank???Why did you leave the job at bank?????
Since you have written that you wish to join bank at the operations level, why not directly apply and start at the base level and slowly with experience move up the ladder.
At the same time, you can opt for banking related courses. Check: www.iibf.org.in
At the same time, you can opt for an MBA program.
Rather I would suggest, apply and join a bank and then depending on the need of the job, opt for a correspondence MBA program.

Leaving your HDFC job is not at all a good sign especially when the job market is always tough. IF you would have been in banking, then transition to operations would have been more smooth.
Now moving from Insurance again t banking operations seems difficult without any formal education in banking technicalities.
You may also try for government bank jobs through IBPS PO vacancies.
