Dear Suganya,

Thanks for posting your query here. I firstly congratulate you for chosing to continue your studies. It is very commendable.

As for completing your 12th by correspondence, you have the option of doing so through the NIOS. The National Institute of Open Schooling is the largest openschooling system in the world. Ithas several study centres all over the country so help you with the process. You can visit nios.ac.in for more details about this.

The 12th standard equivalent that NIOS offers is the ' Senior Secondary Certificate Programme'. The Sr. Secondary Certificate you will receive from the NIOS will be valid in all Universities. For this programme you have to select total five subjects minimum.

This includes one or two languages (choose any from Hindi, English, Urdu and Sanskrit).

For the other three or four subjects you can choose from the following:

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography,

Pol Science, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy, Home Science, Word Prcessing, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Painting and Mass Communication. Thus making total of five subjects.

From this it is advisable to choose subjects according to your future caree plan.

Other than the minimum 5 subjects, if you wantyou can choose two more subjects.

I hope this information is helpful.

Good Luck!
