Hello My Dear Career Aspirant,

From your question which seems incomplete or a continuation of your previous question, I am not able to understand which stream of education you are speaking about. However I can guide you irrespective of the education stream since there is a strict and typical eligibility requirement for government jobs which includes railways.

Railways is considered the biggest infrastructure organisation in India. India has the largest railway network in Asia and railways is the largest employer in public sector. Railways require huge man power requirement every year sheer due to its expansion and maintenance works.

I am happy and also thank ful to you for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance to your career concern. I am sure that you will get expert advice and enable you to decide your career path way. In my more than seven years of career counselling experience, I have got many queries about government jobs as a career and there fore I think I will be able to guide you appropriately.

Eligibility for railways employment:

As mentioned above, any public sector under taking company has decided and stereo type rules for recruitment and they are pretty much straight forward and clear.

From your query I understand and assume that you wish to know whether a particular education qualification can be eligible for getting a job in the railways.

According to me the following eligibility rules are applicable to railways too for their recruitment:

1. If there is an advertisement for clerical work staff or administration staff or low cadre staff, then railways require atleast a graduate. Now this graduate should have done his / her graduation degree from a recognised University and affiliated college. No distance learning or correspondence degrees are eligible.

2. If there is an advertisement for a level above the clerical staff or managers or supervisors or assitance managers or engineers, etc., then the railways require atleast a graduate here too. An Engineering graduate degree or a science graduate degree or a commerce graduate degree may be required. Here also this degree should be done from a recognised University in India and affiliated college. No distance leanring or correspondence degrees are eligibile. Here may be masters degree also may be an eligibility for some posts, there fore this masters should also be done through a recognised University and college and not through distance or par time.

Do get back to us with your complete details of your career query and we will be happy to help you out.

All the Best!
