Has any software engineer starting his career in companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, HCL ever made it to the biggies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, (well, you get the idea.) and what has been their approach/path for accomplishing this?
Definitely there are people who have made it to Google, Apple having started their career with small companies and projects.
What is required for making it to top companies is excellent domain knowledge and command, problem solving skills and attitude, team player qualities, focus on the job, being a peoples person, commitment towards own life and career, ability and capability to face challenges and pressure, high adaptability and high flexibility.
All top notch companies are looking for skills listed above and take those who have these.
My question to you is why do you doubt that professionals who have started small cant make it to big companies???
Though I should say that there are people who have with their own determination landed into Big well known companies at their first attempt.
Please note that it s the confidence and determination that helps individuals. If one doubts their own capacity, how will industry recognise them then.
Apart from what Dr. Anand has mentioned, please note that one can also join the big organizations y bringing or rather innovating. Start a new project, brainstorm, and chances are that you will be noticed by the biggies. At the sametime being creative is very very important.
Attend workshops organised by these companies and or send across your project ideas to these companies with a taste of creativity and you for sure will atleast get an entry to make your presence felt.
Wish you good luck....
