Hello There,

Thank you very much for approaching CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarification for your career concern. I appreciate that you are keen to do Engineering after HSC and that you have already decided about it very well in advance when you have complete SSC from ICSE.

In my more than seven years of career counselling, I have not come across any single student having a problem with any Board. Since I have counselled many students from diverse fields like commerce, finance, engineering, taking any recognised Board for appearing for HSC is not a problem.

There fore according to me taking any Board for your HSC exam even though are planning for Engineering through IIT JEE, is not at all a problem.

In fact, I would like to tell you that appearing for HSC level exam from any recognised Board is not a problem since the curriculum is almost of the same level across the nation.

For IIT JEE, doing well in your HSC Board Exam is must since as per the latest eligibility and admission criteria for engineering stream, having very good marks / percentage in HSC Board exam has become very important and critical. There fore I would suggest you not to take these exams casually and instead study really hard and seriously in order to avoid problems for admission in the future.

Here I would also like to suggest you to opt for a good training and coaching class in your local city for IIT JEE exam preparation. You must be knowing that both the HSC marks and JEE performance is taken into consideration for getting your self lucky for IIT engineering seat. There fore this suggests that your score in the IIT JEE exam should really be very good enough to stand and sustain the competition.

Further your ICSE background must have already made you mentally competent and ready for facing the competitive exam of IIT JEE.

I am very proud that you are aiming for engineering through IIT. I wish you the very best in your quest for IIT Engineer degree.

Best Luck and Regards.
