Thank you for choosing Mera career guide and writing to us. A career in commerce is definitely promising as this plays the back bone role of any business function. After 12th in Commerce, you can possibly pursue a variety of options. I shall brief on them one by one below in here.

  • BCom - Bachelor of Commerce -A Bcom degree will offer you ground breaking knowledge theories in commerce subject. This is a general Commerce degree that will also teach you some aspects of Business. As part of the degree, though you are studying Commerce you will also study about some internal business functions like Human resources, consumer behaviour, marketing, accounts, finance, supply chain, operations management and project management. Studying this degree, you can work either for any business functions. Therefore you can work like a HR analyst, Marketing analyst, Business analyst, Commerce analyst, Management trainee and many more. You can also choose to proceed to any chartered level professional qualifications. Studying a general BCom degree will help you to explore every subject and finally choose if you want to progress in accounts, finnace or business.
Professional route: CA Chartered accountancy, CFA Chartered Financial analyst.

  • BA Economics - An Economics is also the next common option for Commerce students. Completing this degree students work most often as an Economist. If you have flair interest in Economics, then this is the right option for you.
Professional route: Msc and then PhD Economics.

  • BBA - Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA is also one of the degrees that students who like to study Business and Management often chooses. This is also a three year Bachelor degree and completing it you can work only for management or business roles. As part of the Business degree, you will study HR, Marketing, Operations, Accounts and Finance. You can choose to get specialised in one of the streams and accordingly you will also work in your future career.
Professional route: MBA - You can choose to study MBA after BBA or even after getting a minimum of two to three years work experience.

  • BCom with Computer applications - If you have some mutual love for both commerce and computer science, then this is the right option for you. This degree will often concentrations and two subjects and similarly you can choose to work in commerce sectors where even IT knowledge is required.
Professional route: BCom with Computer applications --> MCom --> PhD Commerce or CA.
  • BCom with Accounts (CA Preparatory course) - If you straight away plan to have a career in accounts, then this is the right option.
Professional route: BCom ---> MCom --> CA
  • Bcom with Finance - If you straight away decide that and are sure of pursuing a career in finance, then this is the right option for you.
Professional route: BCom --> MCom --> CFA
