In any commercial organization, finance is one of the most important functional areas and chartered accountant plays a vital role in it. Chartered accountancy has been one of most admired, respected and a well paying profession amongst the various other options in the commerce field. A CA is a person who becomes a member of the institute of chartered accountants of India after having passed the final examination of the course conducted by the institute. CAs are mainly responsible for financial health of a company. With increasing liberalization , privatization and globalization of Indian economy , the placement prospects of CAs are at their best. The work areas of CA includes accounting, auditing, consultancy , tax management and cost accounting. A CA can find employment in private as well as government banks, public limited companies, auditing firms, finance companies, mutual fund, portfolio management companies, investment houses, stock broking firms, independent professional practice and CA firms.

CA should have good numerical ability ,power of logical reasoning, an analytical mind, tact in dealing with clients and employers, ability to take decisions, the ability to write and speak concisely, resourcefulness and a confident manner.
