Plastic has become an integral part of electronics, electric, automobile and telecommunication industries.



The plastic industry makes products for industries and domestic use and is also involved in molding , laminating and finishing products. Plastics today play an important role in day to day life in diverse areas such as packaging , transportation, communication, sports , entertainment and medical devices.




To be a successful plastic technology engineer , one needs to have scientific bent of mind, mechanical aptitude, enquiring approach and highly developed powers of observation.Advanced courses demand a high degree of academic ability , creative imagination ( for research and development) , an analytical mind, resourcefulness , curiosity, interest in problem solving and technological development.



With the plastic industry poised for growth with huge demands made on it from the domestic appliances sector, the automobile industry , the electronics and electric industry, households and the telecommunication industry and the packaging industry , the prospects of employment are good at all levels.
