Thank you very much for approaching counsellors at CareerGuide.com. I am amazed to see such a question from you today. Knowing about one self is very important. It is very essential for one to understand their talent, potential, strengths, weakness to know where they stand in life personally and professionally. This is a part of self analysis study. To explore yourself, know your potentials, there are many strategies.
First ask sit in a calm place and spend a few minutes thinking of yourself. In these minutes you should ask yourself
1.what you like and what you want to to do with it in your life - you should start by exploring what you like to do in life. This means to ask you like what subject you love to study, and why you like to study that subject. For example, if you say you like psychology, then this means you have potential to read minds and behaviour. Second example, if you like maths then you have high potential with terms of numerical skills. Third example, if you like architecture, then you are a creative person and skillful in doing creative drawings and designs. Every potential comes from your favourite or most lovable subject or infact something you love to do with it in your every day life only.

2.how and what are you as a person - next you should evaluate you as a person in terms of character and behaviour. For example, you should ask yourself if you are a person with helping nature, being kind and comforting. If you say yes, then you should seek careers that requires all these essential skills. Next, if you are a person who enjoys travelling and working with different people, different work assignments and you should find careers that link to these skills and photography, consulting, marketing are suitable for such people.

3. what excites you and - Next ask what excites you to do something and why you do it. Whatever may be ones background, some people often fall for some excited things in life and they cannot stop themselves from doing it such activities like painting, interior decorations or evenrepairingold electronics in house.

4. what irritates you - this also explains what is not your cup of tea. You can straight away discard the things that irritate you are not your potentials. this in turn will lead you to find what does interest you and what you want to do. For example, some people may unknowingly explain i can't do this because.... they will give some reasons to explain why they cant do it right? So catch it at that point to say then what are your potentials in the opposite way.

5. what gives you appreciation rewards and compliments - finally think of what makes you appreciated by others often. What gets you awards and rewards. This clearly defines that your talents are understood by outsiders and they are appreciating you for that.
