I am pleased to hear that you have been aspiring to go for the PhD program in the Management. Very few students think of going for the PhD programs after completing the MBA. Definitely having a PhD creates a lot of difference in the career opportunities that are available for one.
While one is planning to do an PhD its very much needed that you do your PhD from the recognized university and college. As you wish to do your PhD from the Mumbai University its a good decision that you have taken. Mumbai University is one of the top most university for the PhD programs in the country.
In order to apply for the PhD program students have to give an entrance exam that qualifies one ot get admitted for the PhD program in their respective subject.
In order to get admitted for the PhD program in Mumbai University you need to give an Mumbai Universities PhD PET exam. Its an objective type examination for the candidates in the relevant subjects from different faculties. In order to be eligible for the PhD program one must have completed a Masters Degree with minimum 55% .
A candidate is exempted from the PET entrance exam if he/she have qualified any of the following exam-
1.GATE
2.NET
3.SET
4.JRF
Whereas the candidates who are the holders of the Teachers Fellowship of apex bodies like- UGC/CSIR/ICAR/DBT/ICMR.

The PET exam pattern consists of the following structure-
1.Objective Type questions- 40 Marks
2.Short Answers- 30 Marks
4.Long Answers- 30 Marks.
Whereas you can also do your PhD program from the other Institutes in Mumbai like-
1.Shailesh.J.Mehta School of Management,IIT Powai Campus.
2.Welingkar's We School.
