1. Work on your portfolio:Employers like to see a strong balance between great design and practical experience. They want to see the ability to conceptualize an idea and develop it and are equally interested in how these ideas are then materialized in built projects.Specifically portfolio submissions should contain: Cover letter and resume (we are interested in the applicants writing skills), Illustrations (3D renderings, hand drawings, sketches, photo shop, illustrator ... depending on what the applicant's strongest medium is), line drawings, DD sets, CD sets, prototypes, physical models.The presentation in the portfolio is incredibly important.

2. Read your application carefully:People often choose not to read the ad we have placed. Please ... read it. We have put thought into it before posting it, it illustrates what we are looking for in our office at that time.Many applicants do not offer references. Employers often pre-screen this way. If you have great references ... use them!Inaccuracy about work experience in terms of longevity (a two month summer internship does not equal an year of work experience)



3. Interview Process:The interview is generally the first impression. Employers are as interested in the person as they are in the work and are looking to find a mutually beneficial fit. The more genuine and open the applicant is about whom he/she is and what his/her career goals are the better. Relax and bring yourself to the interview. Social skills are important in architecture, particularly in upper management. Bring relevant work. Bring examples of built work. Bring examples of your design work that clearly represents you. Often they ask what project the applicant has felt most passionately about and why. Recognize that time is valuable to both parties, make every minute of the interview purposeful.

Architects are the real cretors of amazing buildings and structures. Skyscapers in metro cities would have not been possible without them. While capitalism furthers the growth and prosperity of human race, tal buildings with beautiful designs and glory show the grandeur. The rebuilding of 'Twin Towers' collapsed in 9/11 incident and other tower and structures shows the real dint of human talent and excellence, creativity and vision.


Required Personal /Professional Skills:
A person requires sound Interpersonal & Communications skills and immense physical stamina to get into the profession of architecture. He is expected to work on desk as well as on the construction site. Excellent memory and sound concentrations level, flexibility, patience, team spirit, responsibility and accountability, etc. are some common personality tarits which are essential for professional success in architecture and design, But it is right credentials in academics which matters most in architecture.


Job Prospects:
Architects can work with construction companies wherein they are asked to serve as a designer. Initially, an archtect is expected to understand specific requirements of clients and strike a right balance between aesthetics and practicality. Additionally, an architect with skills can help clients by his ideas in terms of balancing the requirements of appearance, financial budget, an time frame. Some architects even work independently and earn their livelihood through consultancy fees which entirely depends upon the skills and the profile as well as work experience.

Most of the jobs in architecture come up in government organizations such as Public Works Department, the Archaeological Department, Ministry of Defense, National Building Organization, Town and Country Planning Organization, National Institute of Urban Affairs, Departments of Railways, Post and Telegraphs, Public Sector Undertakings, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, National Building Construction Corporation Ltd, etc. While some other organization or bodies like State Departments, Housing Boards, Local Bodies for Construction Work, Builders, Architecture Firms, Consultants, etc also hite architects.

Architects working independently have ample scope in terms of earning. Specialization works well for better prospects in architecture as it is a matter of requirement.
