Dear Aspirant,

After graduation in engineering, you can choose one of the following:

1. MTech / ME in the specialisation of your choice.

2. Search for a job based on your engineering graduation.

3. Do certification courses in your related field like Project Management, etc.

4. MBA in Operations if you are Mechanical / Electrical engineer.

Which engineering stream you belong to. Your answer will be required to suggest you more options relevant to the engineering you have done.

I feel, searching for a job should be the first priority. After getting a job and working for minimum five years, you can then think of MBA in General Management or Project Management.

Best wishes

Hello Himanshu

For an engineering graduate, it’s highly recommended to start with a job. When you start working, you get to know how various departments work in a company. It gives you  a great opportunity to learn about the work culture, soft skills like presentation and communication, decision making etc.

After working for couple of years, you will have a clear idea about whether to switch the field (eg. From mechanical to automobile)or to go for post graduation in the same field or to go for a management related course like MBA or to go abroad for further education or to pursue short term courses depending on work profile.

All the best
