Homeopathy is a system of medicine,in which a drug and a disease that produces similar symptoms cancel each other out in some way thereby restoring the patient's to health. They are trained to view patient holistically and to apply treatment according to the individual needs, reactions and modalities of patients. Homeopaths take detailed case histories of their patients and do a physical examination then make a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate homeopathic medicines. In homeopathy remedy is chosen based on the symptoms as well as the character and temperament of the patient. A homeopath should be versatile, able to work independently and have strong sense of responsibility. . They must be emotionally balanced, patient , tactful and calm. They must be able to work fast, accurately , make quick decisions , carry responsibility and work under a great deal of pressure. They must also have good physical stamina. The work also demands good memory, the ability to integrate knowledge from various sources, keen observation and quick interpretation. The ability to take crucial decisions, self-motivation, amiable and sympathetic temperament are also essential

. Sympathy and compassionare to be combined with clarity of mind and scientific objectivity to produce competent , approachable and caring practioners who primary concern is the well being of their patients.
