A student having PCB  in 12th standard can pursue his further study in medicine or dental studies, biochemistry, biotechnology,microbiology, agricultural and dairy science. Options are also available in the paramedical and allied fields such as Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Audiology, Speech Therapy, Medical Lab Technology, Optometry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy etc. Those interested in animal husbandry and veterinary science can take a career as a veterinary doctor. For that they have to appear for the entrance examination conducted by Veterinary Council of India for getting admission to first year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.

1.Medical and Para-medical Sciences

Medicine  -

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery). Admission is based on All India Pre-Medical Test. Its five year course. After MBBS, student can pursue MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Masters of Surgery). 

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) 

Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Sciences (BSMS)

Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Science (BNYS)

Eligibility: 12th Science (PCB) with higher percentile

Admission procedure: All India Pre-Medical Test and higher score in 12th as well as entrance test. 

Private institutions have their own entrance exam and selection procedure.

Para-medicine - 

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) 

BSc in Nursing, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Medical Lab Technology, Optometry and Ophthalmic technology, Nutrition and Dietetics. Other subjects like pathology, hospital administration, radiation technology, respiratory therapist, sonographer technician, operation theatre assistant, massage therapy acupressure, acupuncture.

Eligibility: 12th Science (PCB) 

Admission procedure: Entrance test and higher score in 12th as well as entrance test. Some Universities/colleges provide admission based on merit.

Biomedical Sciences  -

Bachelor of  Technology (BTech) in Biomedical, Bioinformatics, Biochemical, Food and Agricultural Biotech.

Eligibility: 12th Science (PCB) 

Admission procedure: All India Entrance test and interview. Private institutes have their own entrance exam.

Veterinary Science  -

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)

Admission procedure: The Veterinary Council of India, Karol Bagh, New Delhi - 110005 conducts an All India Common Entrance Examination for admission to 15 per cent seats in each veterinary college for B.V.Sc. or AH (Animal Husbandry). A minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in PCB and English is required in the qualifying examination for taking the test.

2.Pharmacy/Clinical Research

Diploma in Pharmacy (D Pharm)

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)

Masters of Pharmacy (M Pharm)

BSc (clinical research) 

Admission procedure: Entrance test or Merit list

3 .Bachelor of Science

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics, biology, life science, home science, zoology, botany, micro-biology, environmental science. Other unique fields are:
