This is known as CPL license, and to get this license you should undergo a pilot training and pass a government approved written and practical exam conducted by DGCA Government of India. To get this CPL license, you should enrol in a pilot training institute and these institutes in India are recognised and popular for this course.

  • Should be of a minimum age of 18 and above.

About the CPL training course:
  • This course is run for two years usually.
  • Students can either join this course soon after 12th standard and complete this two year training and start becoming a co-pilot right from 20-21 years. Or students can also do a minimum bachelors degree as a graduation degree and then do the pilot training. This bachelors degree can be from any subject and you should have passed it with a minimum of 55% overall.
  • The fee for a CPL training is usually between 15-20 lakh in India. This fee range differs from one institute to institute although the minimum is 15 lakh for a two year course. You can pay the course fee year by year in two instalments.
  • Once you take complete a two year training then you should appear for the national exam known as Commercial pilot's license conversion examination conducted by DGCA, Government of India. This exam is both theory and practical and you should clear it to get the CPL license. Once you get the license, you are eligible to work initially as a Co-pilot in commercial passenger airline and later after at least a few years of experience or after gaining a minimum of 20000 flying hours, you can be promoted as a Pilot. If you requireany further information, please contact us back.
