Getting a job in marketing is through work experience constructed in the field of marketing, else through formal education in marketing.

Full time qualifications:If you'd ask me, I would always advice on taking up a full time education in a professional degree like the MBA. To have an MBA and then work in marketing field is very powerful both in personal and professional development aspects.
There are many colleges in India that offer the MBA/ PGDM in marketing and here is the list of top tier business schools in India.
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur Vinod Gupta school of management, IIM Lucknow, IIT Bombay Shailesh Mehta school of management, IIM Khozhikode, IIT Delhi school of management, IIM Indore, IIT Roorkee department of management studies, Faculty of management studies FMS University of Delhi, XLRI, Symbiosis institute of management, SP Jain Institute of management and IMT Ghaziabad.
In specific, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and ISB Hyderabad are the only three schools from India that gets placed well for marketing management in international university rankings in India and Asia region.

Admission tests:
The following admission tests are necessary to be able to study MBA Marketing management in these specific schools.
All the IIM's - Only CAT exam
All the IIT's - either CAT or GATE exams
ISB Hyderabad - only GRE or GMAT exams
XLRI - only XAT exam
Rest of the schools either accept CAT score or usually administers their own test and expects you to score high in them too.

Part time qualifications:However if you cannot allocate two years and study full time in the MBA degree, a few part time courses are also on offer by India's leading business schools. But please note that all these part time degrees are only open to candidates who have completed a minimum of one or two years of work experience. If you are a fresher with no work experience, then you have only one option and that is to study only the MBA/ PGDM but not these part time courses. These part time courses are run usually 2-3 days during the week after 6pm and probably ends before 9pm. There are also weekend classes on Saturdays and Sundays. The courses may of either a year or two duration depending on the school you will be studying. As said if you have some work experience but cannot quit work and study MBA for two years then this is an excellent option. These part time degrees are also highly recognizable and very promising towards your post MBA career. The following courses are offered by these five reputed business schools:

IIM Calcutta:
1. Executive program in business and management with marketing EPBM
2. Executive program for young managers EPYM
3. Executive program in sales and marketing EPSM

IIM Khozhikode:
1. Executive postgraduate certificate in marketing management

IIM Lucknow:
1. Executive postgraduate program in sales and marketing
2. Executive program for young managers (choose marketing area in this course)

XLRI:
1. Postgraduate certificate in sales and marketing

IIT Bombay:
1. Certificate in marketing

To join either of these four schools, you need to contact the school or hughes education and register for your program of interest. You might be asked to submit a proof of employment certificate that states a minimum of 1-2 year work exp. Some of the courses are for one year and some for two years.

Professional certifications:The last option is the professional marketing certificate. If you have a minimum of five years of marketing work experience, you are eligible to sit for any of these prestigious marketing certifications.
1. Professional certified marketer - AMA PCM
2. CME - sales and marketing executive certificate
3. OMCP - Online marketing certified professional

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me back. My best wishes to you.
