There are many myths about Airline Pilots few of them have been mentioned as below:

1. High Salaries
Most people think that being a pilot is all about getting huge salaries. Which is not true for every pilot. With growing number of Airlines, and more and more pilots available - not every pilot gets that huge salary. They do get big amounts after good experience in this field but not straight away.

2. Women Pilots Don't Exist
Many believe that there are only male pilots in this world. But that is not true. It used to be the case earlier but now a days many females who are keen to become pilots, are enrolling themselves in Pilots courses.

3. Pilots come From Air Force
Again, this used to be the case earlier when most pilots came from the military background but it has been changed. Many pilots these days get their education and training completed from India or abroad and get hired by top Airlines. They don't have to belong to the Air Force.

4. Absolutely Perfect Vision
Right from childhood, we are told that - in order to become a pilot we need to have perfect vision. But that is not true. We just have to meet JAR standards. One does not need to have 20/20 vision. The normally good eye sight with or without glasses is required for the job.

5. It's Hectic
Many people say that being a pilot is too hectic. Although it's true that it becomes hectic at times, but there are also the times when you have enough of free time. Also, the work is very serious and has to be foolproof. But it does not extend to long hours and therefore pilots do get so many days off.
