Dear Friend,

There are very common myths related to Corporate Lawyers and their work. And I can say that all those are neither true nor false, because I am also an Advocate and I have many friends and Family members who are into Criminal Practice.

The Myths are:

    1. There is a very common myth related to corporate layer and that is that Corporate Lawyers are always paid higher amount of fees weather they know the law or not. This is true upto certain level because what happens is, corporations are not willing to hire different lawyers for their different litigation. They believe that by hiring or by keeping many lawyers they might loose their confidential information. This is true as well, Corporations have many information which is very highly confidential and only their legal representatives like Lawyers or their top management panel should be aware of and if they hire different lawyers for their different litigation these information might go out of the corporation and which can cause many problems to the corporation. And this is why corporations always prefers to stick to very limited number of lawyer for their all kind of litigation. This is the reason that a corporate lawyer who has been hired by an XYZ corporation might not be able to defend them in particular litigation but still getting a high salary, so keep in mind that the Corporate lawyer is not getting a salary to defend them but to not disclosing the highly confidential information of that corporation.

    1. The second myth which is very much related to corporate lawyers are that they are not allowed to take any other cases other than the corporation which has hired him/her. Well as far as the law is concerned and the constitution and professional ethic code is concerned there is no where in the code or in the constitution or in the law it is written that a lawyer can not practice other that their only client. But what happens is corporations are always so big and always stuck in so many legal issues that the person or a corporate lawyer who is trying to take them out from this legal web are so busy and so much occupied that they actually don't have time to even think about any other client or to represent them

These are few of the common myths which are related to the Corporate Lawyers and their work.
