Psychiatrists are qualified doctors who diagnose and treat mental illness. They talk to patients about their mental, emotional or behavioral problems in order to understand the true nature and severity of the patient's problem. He study the patient's medical and mental histories. He examine patient to work out what his or her general physical condition is through ordering laboratory, imaging tests and other diagnostic procedures/ .Heanalyze the results of the test and examinations to work out the most appropriate forms of treatment. He prescribes and administer medication, psychotherapy or other treatment and rehabilitation programme and arrange admission to hospitals. In psychotherapy, psychiatrist use their special training to talk with patient to help him or her understand and cope with his or her problems. They consult and work in collaboration with other allied health professionals to carry out the treatment. Psychiatrist usually work with regular or mental hospitals, drug de-addiction centers, neuro psychiatric centers or medical colleges.
