Geographers work in various industries and their knowledge and skills is highly appreciated at work place. They have an option to work in :-

Environmental management : Alot of environmental assessment , clean up and management companies exist throughout the globe. A geographer is responsible for development of environmental impact reports. There is alot of scope in this field.

Teaching - Teaching in universities / colleges / schools is also an option for post graduates in geography.

Transportation Management . Highways, seaports, airports and pipelines are necessary linkages for an increasingly interdepedent glob. Geography, with a fous on the spatial interaction between people and places , helps the geographer to understand modern transportation and better planning.

Climatology :- Geography students can also find employment in meteorological departments, news media , weather channels such as national geographic and related government bodies.

Urban Planning : Planning and development commission hire geographers in context of optimal land use and new constructions.

Cartography- Government agencies, book publishers , news media, travel agencies hire geography graduates to assist produce maps.

GIS Specialist :- Central and state government bodies hire geographers for mappinh and remote sensing interpretation.
