Hotel management is day by day increasing its charm and being the preferred career option among students. The employment opportunities in this area is also very vast. And so as the remuneration.

There are various job roles in the branch of hotel management. One can work in Reception services, Housekeeping services, Food and Beverages Or Managerial services.

The role and responsibility of a hotel manager is to look through the daily operations which includes housekeeping, coordinating reservations and room assignments, convention services, restaurant services, laundry services etc.

The manager also manages financial aspect of business. Especially finding ways to increase profitability. Staff management is also a key role of a manager.

Remuneration for a hotel manager depends on the type of hotel one works and the years of experience one has. Working in a big brand companies offers from 50000 to 80000 pm. And the packages increases with the experience.

The hotel and hospitality industry is among the biggest employment generators in the country. Hotel management involves a combination of many skills : general management, food and beverage service , housekeeping, sales and marketing , personnel management , front office operations, public relations , accounting and bookkeeping to suit individual skills and qualities.

front office is at the Center of activities of a hotel. The main responsibilities of this department involves keeping record of bookings, acts as general information desk, helps guests with necessary information, assists in transaction of money etc.

food and beverage department deals with overall servicing of the kitchen, specializing in different types of cuisine, looking after the arrangement for dining hall, restaurants, bars etc.

chef is responsible for creating and supervising the preparation of all kinds of different dishes.

Housekeeping isinvolved in overseeing the general appearance of all rooms, checking for cleanliness and comfort etc.

marketing department is responsible for organizing sales and other promotional activities to increase footfall.

hotel manager is responsible for overseeing all the departments and ensuring their smooth functioning. He is responsible for organizing commercial and operations training for the relevant staff. He is responsible for framing and implanting Hr, Marketing and operations policies. He is responsible for ensuring the revenue generation and goodwill of the organization on long term basis.
