Below is the list of the main work and responsibilities that the interior designers have during their work:

1. The interior designers have to meet their clients and spend a lot of time with them while fetching the information and gathering the requirements. These interactions are usually long and involve a series of discussions between the two parties. The interior designers in some cases prefer to spend some time in the house of the clients to understand their lifestyle better and hence accordingly suggest the right interiors for them.

2. Once the requirements have been gathered, the interior designers work on the most important task - the designing of the interiors of the clients house or office. The interiors require specific arrangements, color combinations, objects based on the needs and requirements of the client and therefore the interior designers have to make sure that they are going in the right direction. For this purpose they regularly visit the client's place and discuss the project with them.

3. The interior designers have to maintain the data and records of their clients and also about their work, specially if they are working for some organization. It is very important to do the paper work and ensure that things are going fine. They also need to send out the regular communication letters to the management and other officials who are involved in the project.

4. The interior designers need to stay in touch with their previous clients and suggest them certain things if required. They are also required to take the feedback from time to time, and hence make sure that the clients are really satisfied. For this purpose they send out the emails, have conversations over the phone and even meet the people they have worked for.

5. The interior designers have to attend a number of events where they can showcase their work and also learn about the latest trends and the new style in the field of interior designing. Therefore they attend such events and grow their professional network.
