Hello..

First let me introduce you to myself, I am working as a financial Analyst in a private company and I am having more than three years of experience in the same field.

Coming to your question about the roles and responsibilities of a Investment analyst. Investment analyst is person who is responsible to do a lot of research on market condition, trends and lay down a plan for the finance manager for investment. To help in taking various decisions related to investment, to design a better portfolio for the company investment needs.

Some of the work of investment analyst a re in house those working in some investment management companies, there they have to provide solutions and answers only to in house fund manger. Other are also there like stock brokers, investment banks where they need to provide investment ideas and plans to portfolio mangers etc.
Some times they directly deal with the clients of the company and help and advise the client in their investment needs and requirements.
Some of the sectors investments analyst are likely to work are as mentioned below:
  • Insurance companies
  • Banking Sector
  • NGOs's
  • Individuals in need of investment plans
  • Pension funds firm
  • Other Companies requiring a investment analyst

Investment analyst have a broad range of roles and responsibilities, which varies from company to company and employer to employer. The investment analyst need to analyse the economic and financial conditions and based on the analysis a investment plan is evaluated and given by him.
They also need to have all the information about the companies financial condition too like balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, financial statements etc which will help them to better decide the right plan for the company.
They also need to analyse the rival companies likely in the same sector where his company is like in FMCG or marketing etc. by doing all the analysis by their financial statement, cash flow statement etc and all, he can better help his company and their investment needs.
Apart from all these he also need to know about the unavoidable changes like natural calamities, how to react in that case and situation, what will be the plan in that situation etc.
He need to give reports and findings to fund mangers to help them in investment.

Hope you got your answer.
