As a post graduate in microbiology one has an option to get into research, make a career in medical , industrialm amrine or agriculture indusrry. The roles which can play in these industries are :-


Research assistant. These people provide technical support to conduct research working in a team with other scientists and a research director.


- Medical Microbiologists: study the role played by micro-organisms in inflicting diseases in humans and animals. They research these organisms to find various ways to cure, prevent and occurrence of these diseases.
- Industrial Microbiologists: work with industries manufacturing products like antibiotics, amino acids, beverages etc.
- Marine Microbiologists: deals with the micro-organisms present in the ocean.
- Agricultural Microbiologists: study plant diseases, the role of microorganisms in soil fertility and damage of farm products.
- Sales or technical representative. These people provide information about pharmaceuticals and other medical or scientific products to prospective customers
