The main work and responsibilities of a News Reader are explained below:

1. The most important task of any news reader is to read the news aloud on the news show. They have to do this in such a way that they provide all the necessary information and do not miss anything. At the same time they have to stay creative in order to arouse the curiosity of the audience. For TV news readers it is very important to work on their expressions along with their voice modulation. The way they present the news indicate how good they are in their work and therefore should focus a lot on this.

2. Quite often the newsreaders have to write the news stories as well. They do not always get the script in their hands but are also required to write it on their own based on the information provided by the reporters. Therefor they need to be really good at their written communication skills. They need to write the impressive news story so that when they narrate it in the news, the audience really like the work and appreciate it. Also, the newsreaders have to stay in touch with the current happenings all over the world. That would help them in writing the stories. Without clear understanding of the issues they will not be able to present the news correctly.

3. The news readers are also supposed to host important shows and therefore are required to interview many people for that. These shows are often aired on radio or television live. And therefore there is not much scope to errors. The preparation has to be really well. They should do thorough research and investigation before such shows and understand the issue clearly which they would be discussing. The preparation determines the quality of the show. Also they need to practice it well so that there are no errors during the show.

Therefore the news readers fulfill many responsibilities and are often quite busy in their daily schedule.
