Below is the list of the main work and responsibilities for the nutritionists:

1. The nutritionists have to study about the various nutritions and their effect on the health. The studies often take up a lot of time but they have to do that all throughout their careers. Having the right knowledge about the various nutritions, their chemical composition and the applications along with their effects on the human body, is must for the nutritionists.

2. They are required to meet their clients on regular basis. The client can be an individual, a family or an organization looking for the right composition for the food products. In all these cases they have to meet their clients, undertsand the requirements well and based on the health information that they have gathered from the client they need to work on the nutrition care plan for the clients.

3. Working on the nutritions plan is the most important activity that the nutritionists do. They have to consider the health status of the individual for whom they are devising the nutrition plan and accordingly do the research on what all could be the nice options for that individual. The nutritionists have to make sure that each aspect of the health is considered so that it doesn't cause any side effect on the health of that individual.

4. The nutritionists have to do a lot of paper work maintaining the records and information on the case that they are working on. They need to update all that information in their database. This again is a mandatory exercise as it will be of much use during the subsequent cases and even in the later stages of the same case.

5. The nutritionists conduct practical experiments about the various components of the food and their nutritive value as per the health. Thus they have to spend enough time in the laboratories in figuring out the right ingredients and hence provide the right solutions to the clients. The research work is an important part of their work and is highly required for any nutritionist.
