As the name suggest, instrumentation engineering is the science of instruments that deals with designing, developing, installing, managing and constantly improvising the instruments to be used in every walk of life. As instruments have become part and parcel of our life, instrumentation technologies are virtually applied in every field to make work easier and even more simpler. Other wise referred as instrumentation and control engineering , it is a multi disciplinary branch linked with electrical, electronics, mechanical, Computers and chemical sciences etc.
The most innovative technologies that instrumentation is heading towards includes intelligent sensors( Touch sensors, Smoke sensors, speed sensors etc. ) smart transducers, blue tooth technology, bio - medical instrumentation's, Railway signalling technology , Train control systems, etc. . Instrumentation and control systems is applied everywhere, right from R & D units to aerospace companies, thermal power plants, automobile companies, electrical equipment manufacturing companies, Medical equipment manufacturing companies in almost all domains of the world.
