An instrumentation and control engineer is mainly responsible for designing, installing , managing and maintaining equipments which are used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinary and processes. The main responsibilities of instrumentation engineers include:-

  • Designing and developing new control systems
  • Maintaining and modifying existing systems
  • Managing operations
  • Working in collaboration with design engineers, operations engineers , purchasers and other internal staff.
  • Contacting clients, suppliers , contractors and relevant authorities
  • troubleshooting and problem solving
  • writing computer softwares
  • project management within cost and time constrained environments.
  • understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards.

The demand for instrumentation engineers is growing rapidly and job opportunities for graduates are multifacted. The grduates can work as manufacturing engineers in compnies like sony, lg , samsung as quality controller, research , design and development consultants, entreprenurs and lecturers.

The field of instrumentation engineers is growing at a very fast pace. over the past three decades the field of instrumentation has seen an extremely widespread application in almost all discipline of engineering e.g mining & metallurgy , robotics, textile, rolling mills, furnaces, chemical engineering, process control.
