Plastic engineers develop plastic and polymers of various types. Their main work involves producing plastic which is best suited for a specific purpose. The plastic engineers plays multi-faceted roles like the plastic part designers design industrial and consumer parts by using computer & other technologies/ Moulddesigner plays an importantrole of developing automatic mould design. He is a specialist who knows the entire process of know how of plastic industry and carry out his duties on CAD/CAE/ CAM systems. Plastic mould maker converts the mould design into reality. It is a highly skilled and well respected job in tool room. After mounting the mould on machine , the processing technician take care of the production. He is responsible for taking care of the whole production process like setting right temperature, cycle time, mould temperature so that finished product as per the standard specifications comes out at regular interval. The finished goods are then analyzed by quality experts where a team of experts do mechanical testing like tensile test, flexural testing , compressive testing etc. They also carry out thermal tests like specific heat etc. Both public as well as private sector organizations like Oil and natural gas corporation, Oil India ltd, polymer corporation of various states, chemical research laboratories and the ministry of petroleum and chemicals offers various opportunities to these experts.



The programmes are offered at various levels -diploma, undergraduate and post graduate.
