The function of public relation specialist is to act as the communication link between the client and public. The public relation professional has to present the client's image in a manner that infuses credibility and confidence in the public. He or she has to be consistent with the image that he or she continues to project.



Public relation expert should be aware of and expert in the the use of the media of communication. In communicating the right image of the client , they have to use the media effectively.



They research public attitudes and opinions and assist in the framing or reviewing of the policy with the background of the results and findings of the research. Once this is over they handle communication of the policy to public. In the process of communication ,




they keep in mind the message to be conveyed , the objective for conveying it , the audience to be targeted and the medium through which the message will reach the target audience most effectively. Public relation expert is often the middleman between the high profile personality and members of the media.



They establish relationship with people working in radio, television, print etc to inform them about the client' work and achievements. Good public relation experts can turn scandal into opportunity and create valuable name- recognition for their clients.



Public relations professionals are usually graduates with a broad general understanding of social, cultural , economic and political affairs. Public relations have enormous potential for growth in India. In each and every sector of the economy the role of public relations specialist is well established.
