An instrumentation and control, engineer is mainly responsible for developing, designing , installing , managing and maintaining equipment which are used to control and monitor various engineering systems. The various interesting things performed by an instrumentation engineer include designing and developing hi tech new control systems, modifying and maintaining existing systems, managing various industrial operations, working in collaboration with design engineers, doing project management with cost and time constrained environments, offering advice and consultancy support for diffrent automated industrial processes
. An instrumentation engineer can get jobs in Research and development units of public and private sector companies. They are also recruited by the heavy industries such as thermal power stations, steel plants, refineries , cement and fertilizer plants as process engineer. The bio medical instrumentation manufacturing units hire these engineers for the repair and maintenance jobs. They also can take up jobs as industrial automation/ robotics engineer in any manufacturing or food processing industry which run in an automated system to optimize the safety, productivity and dependability of their systems.
