An instrumentation engineer can work as process engineer in heavy industries such as thermal power stations like Rajghat thermal power station, panipat thermal power station, fardibad thermal power station, Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Station, NTPC Dadri etc Steel Plants like Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Visakhapatnam, Jinal Steels Limited, Bhilai Steel Plant, Bokaro Steel, Tata Steel , JSW steel Limited, Tata Sponge Iron Limited, Rourkela Steel Plant , refineries such as Reliance, IOC, BPCL, HPCL, MRPL, Chennai Petro, Essar Oil, Nagarjuna Oil etc, cement and fertlizers companies such as Gujrat Ambuja Cements, National Fertilizers limited etc.
He can work as design and product development engineer in companies that manufactures specialized instruments such as actuators, measuring gauges etc
.
He can get associated with any manufacturing, chemical or food processing industry which run in an automated set up as industrial automation or robotics engineer.
He can work as maintenance and repair engineer for bio medical instrument manufacturing companies.
