Being a Chef is a challenging career. It requires a number of skills besides your educational qualifications. You need to have following skills as a fresher to get a good job of Chef:

1. You need to have good understanding of various cuisines and cooking methods so that the potential employer can get good idea of your knowledge and expertise as a Chef.

2. You need to have very good people management skills. As a Chef, it will be your day to day responsibility to manage people and supervise their activities.

3. You need to have good analytical skills. Being good at mathematics is a good advantage.



4. You should have excellent communication skills if you want to become a Chef. How well you communicate with others and utilize this strength to enhance the workplace productivity determines your success.

5. One should be creative enough to involve new practices in the cooking. It adds to the taste and the feel of any recipe. Creativity is something that you grow over a period of time.

6. You have to be passionate about this work. There will be times when your patience are really tested. You are required to cope up with that pressure keeping your interest alive.

7. As a Chef, you should have enough knowledge about health, nutritions and cleanliness. These are few concerns that are growing these days.
