Ayurvedic medicines encompasses a wide range of treatment and lifestyle measures including dietary recommendations, massages, medicinal herbs and meditation and breathing techniques of yoga.

To be a successful ayurvedic practioner , one must have good concentration span, self confidence, strong sense of responsibility, caring nature, good communication and counseling skills and have the ability to make important decisions after weighing relevant details that the patient offers. Personal care and service attitude is also required to be there.

With the required qualification and above mentioned skills one can find employment as medical officer/ doctor at government and private ayurvedichospitals, charitable institutions, medical colleges and training institutes. Many take up private practiceor start their own retail shop of ayurvedic medicines. They can also find employment as supervisors in Panch Karma. One can also work in industries engaged in ayurvedic preparations. They also have an option to work as professor in ayurvedic colleges or research scientist for companies engaged in ayurvedicpreparations.
