Great you are looking out for Civil service options. A rare field and the most lucrative of all.


I hope you might have checked the website, since I could not find any new addition to the existing rules and regulations for the exams.

To appear for Civil service exams, one needs to be a graduate with minimum 60%.

He could then choose any subjects depending on their choice, one could be a subject of his specialization, and then appear for exams on the chosen subject.But one must have complete in-depth knowledge of the subject, both theoretical as well as practical.

Apart from that they would have to submit an essay on a particular topic which can be from any field right from sports to politics to daily life etc.

Then comes in the personality tests just to check your physical and mental status, which they do with few psychometric tests and medical help.

It sounds easy, but efforts for these exams needs to begin from an early stage, say with your 12th exams.

Everyday reading the newspaper to get an idea of the current news and also getting ready with your own analysis of the news article is a must. Get into the habit of healthy discussions and not debates. Keep reading and utilizing it is very very important. Work on your writing and communicating skills.
