One way of knowing the answer is by meeting the placement department in your University. Here you could check which companies and what kind of students were placed in which role and salary offered.Other way is by meeting professionals in the industry and knowing their job roles.
As it is said Mechanical field is the King of the Engineering field.It encompasses everything from Production to designing to research to Implementation to maintenance to redesigning.
And they are needed in every industry right from Electronics to Automobiles to Home Appliances etc.
