Hi Manoj,

Interesting question.

As a Paint technologists, your main role is:

  • Understand and Manufacture paints, polymers used, pigments etc. It involves understanding the chemistry of the functions of each ingredient going into the paint and the effect on the final property of the paint.
Also you would be responsible for developing new products as well as enhancing and upgrading the qualities of products which have already been developed.

In short creating and developing as well as teaching others is the the main role you play.

The main skills required here:

  • Love for paint or colors
  • An eye for details
  • Reasoning capacity
  • Communication Skills
  • Inquisitiveness
  • Being Empathetic

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck..............
