It is advised to learn the following things if you aspire to become a successful architect:



1. Practice Design and Painting:This will help you build your skills as a designer and the basic understanding of the graphics. If possible start at an early stage as these skills take a lot of time before you can become a master of it.



2. TV and Magazines:Equip yourself with knowledgeable stuff likeArchitectural Digestmagazine. You should also start watching TV serials likeBuilding The Futureon Discovery Channel.







3. Software and Technology:Frequently, the architects now rely on computer programs, most basically, AutoCAD, which can help plan the logistics of designs. It also has diverse applications in civil engineering and city planning.







4. Understanding the scenario:An aspiring architect can learn numerous things in their day to day lives. Whether its city planning or building design - everywhere you can find the architectural brilliance and flaws. If you can learn small things from them every day, it will be of great help in the long run.

Architectsare the real creators of amazing buildings and structures. Skysracppers in metro cities would have not been possible without them. While capitalism furthers the growth and prosperity of human race, tall buildings with beautiful designs and glory show the grandeur. the rebuilding of 'Twin Towers' collapsed in 9/11 incident and other towers and structures shows the real dint of human talent and excellence, creativity and vision.


Require Skills apart from Acadmics:
As person requires sound Interpersonal & Communications Skills and immense physical stamina to get into the profession of architecture. He is expected to work on desk as well as on construction site. Excellent memory and sound concentration level, flexibility, patience, team spirit, responsibility, and accountability,etc are some common personality traits which are essential for professional success in architecture and design and will help in long run. But it is the tight credentials in academics which matters the most in architecture.


Job Prospects:
Architects can work with construction companies wherein they are asked to serve as a designer. Initially an architect is expected to understand specific requirements of clients and strike a right balance between aesthetics and practicality. Additionally, an architect with skills can help clients by his ideas in terms of balancing the requirements of appearance, financial budget and time frame. Some architects even work independently and earn their livelihood through consultancy fees which entirely depends upon the skills and profiles as well as work expeience.

Most of the jobs isn architecture come up in government organizations such as Public Works Department, the Archaeological Department, Ministry of Defence,ANtional Building Organization, Towm and Country Planning Organizaiton, National Institute of Urban Affairs, Department of Railways, Post and Telegraphs, Public Sector Undertakings, Housing and Urban Development Corporation, National Building Construction Corporation Ltd, atc. While some other organizations or bodies like State Departments, Housing Boards, Local Bodies for Construction Work, Builders, Architecture Firms, Consultants, etc also hire architects.

Architects working independently have ample scope in terms of earnings. However, the inherent hazard with independent practice is that the professional undergoes lots of work as he alone has to plan details of sizes, specification, and estimates of the cost of the structure. Specialization works well for better prospects in architecture as it is a matter of requirement.
