There are many premier institutions and universities in India, which offers degree programs in India.
Let me discuss the top institutes one by one;
Fishery science education in India started with the establishment of the Central Institute of Fishery Education (CIFE) in Mumbai in 1961, for in service training and later establishment of College of Fishery at Mangalore. At present in India there around nineteen college which offers degree programs in Fishery sciences, there curricula is being revised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Few of the abobe mentioned institutes also provides training programs and do not offer degree programs
Besides all the above mentioned Universities and Institutions, there are many more state level universities, which also offer courses in Fishery Sciences.
The selection in the fishery science discipline is either by entrance test or merit based. They offer bachelor , masters and doctoral degree programs. The masters degree program id of two years (four semesters) and the doctoral degree program is of minimum three years (six semesters). The diploma courses or training programs is of generally few weeks to few months.
