Hi,

Psychology is the study of human behaviour and thoughts. To study psychology one should have a genuine desire to help people.

With the times demand and importance of psychologist have increased. And so as the employment options. Psychologist works in different areas. The work profile of a psychologist depend on its area of specialization. Like a clinical psychologist works for hospitals, Psychiatric centers, NGO's , Rehab centers etc.
Educational psychologist works in schools, colleges and training centers. Industrial psychologist works in corporate sector with various companies . Sports psychologist works with sports schools, sports federation and association etc.
Community psychologist are working in various sector including NGO's and rehab centers. Career counselor help students choosing career options and development. There are various counselors working in various areas i.e marriage counselor, family counselor, etc One can own his private clinic with few years of practical work experience.

Teaching and research are other work options available.

The job profile of the psychologist is stressful and tiring. There are nothing like night shifts in the job profile.

Skills required are excellent communication skills, listening skills, patience, problem solving, decision making, calm attitude etc

Courses available are BA hons in psychology, BA pass with psychology as one of the subject. MA in psychology with specialization , Mphil and Phd.
