Working hours for any employee is highly based on the type of company he / she is working for

. If a candidate is working for a BPO or US based company, working in night shifts may be required since when there is day in US here it is our night. If one is working for an Indian company then the working hours are normal shift that isof nine to six from monday to friday. These days companies do not work for Saturdays, so typically the working days are from Monday to Friday. As far as finance manager is concerned, there are times in the year where deadlines are to be met and there is a time bound schedule which needs to be followed by everyone in the finance department. There are scenario in the year like year end, quarter end, half year end, where there is lot of finance arrangments been made, appropriations been made, adjustments been made, etc. and also statutory returns also need to be filed with the concerned government authorities like Registrar of Companies, SEBI, banks, etc. In such times, the work hours generally get extended to nine in the night and start early may be from eight in the morning. Generally it is not observed that finance departments have the privilege to enjoy flexible timings. As a Finance Manager he / she is supposed to handle and also take responsibility of the entire finance function and people. So generally Managers may come late to office but also need to stay back to check daily that everything is in line with the requirements and no work is pending to be done.
