Food technologists are mainly hired in food processing companies . These coanies need food technology professional sto work for them in diffrent departments like Production, Quality Control, Research & Development etc. As a research & development expert , the job of food technologist involves devising new amnd improved techniqwues for processing , conservation abnd preservation of food articles. He is expected to develop new and modified products and processes. As a quality professionbal , the job involves checking amd improving quality control procedures at the working place from the raw material to finished goods stage which involves taking care of the issues related to safety and qaulity and carrying out the support and development process. As a production personnel he has to ensure that the proper procedure and hygience conditions are maintained during the processing and packaging of food . He is also expected to do research on current market trend and latest techgnologies to develop new product ideas. The work opportunities in both private as well as private sectors are available to the people in this field. They can find work in companies like Food Corporation of India, Modern Food Corporation , Amul, Cadbury, Nestle, Hindustan Lever etc.
