Hmmm.

I can see the confusion.

But here you need to ask yourself, is painting or creativity or reading poems and books a hobby or are you serious in pursuing it as a hobby.
Generally during school, children through school teachers and parents are encouraged towards such extra curricular activities and it is a must to keep one from the boring routine acts of just studying.

But to take it as a career, you really need to be in depth into it.
Mainly you need to be high on visual skills, sense of aesthetics, colour combinations and being out of the box in your thinking and act.

If you are looking for a career into Painting, you have the stream of Visual ART or Fine ART open for you. It is a course, you can take after class 12th any stream. BFA, is a 3 years course, whereby after 12th, you would have to appear for entrance exam which would tests your Fine motor ability, visualization skills, out of the box thinking, analytic ability and ability to work in stress. This includes pottery, painting and visual art. Post this you could begin your own exhibition in various centres. But definitely it takes time here and a lot of patience to be at the top. Initially you may face set backs.

If in case You are looking out for a career into Journalism or media, then you could opt or a course in BMM, a 3 years course after 12th any stream.
Again here you need to be very very creative in expressing the thoughts to your readers. Essentially, your writing must be sweet but diplomatic and must be easily understandable to the readers.

The media career as such is not a 9 to 5 kind of a job. You could opt for a career as a reporter too, whereby you would have to go to various places from where news can be collected and then edited and shown to the viewers.
This takes care of your dreams of writing, as well as moving around in different places.

Career choices are many. You now have to narrow down to your line of interests and choose a career you would like to take lifelong and would be happy working in it

If you are still confused, best would be to undergo an Aptitude tests which will clearly point out your potentials and will help you choose a career based on your potentials rather than just your liking.

Wish you good luck
