Hi,

There are many options other than BMS to opt for MBA degree. The eligibility criteria for doing MBA is you need to have a bachelor's degree (3 years course) or equivalent in any discipline recognized by any Indian University / AICTE as eligible for post - graduate studies.

Bachelor's Degree in any branch of engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy / B.Sc./ Agricultural engineering (minimum 4 years after 10+2) is the criteria for admission in MBA.

Graduate from any back ground can apply for the MBA program . There is no age limit for this course. Candidates will have to go through an entrance exam such as MAT / CAT / XAT or ATMA to get admitted to MBA course.

You can complete your B Com. degree and then do your MBA or you can do it after doing masters also. It is your wish totally. Both the ways it is fine. You can even go for chartered accountancy also. MBA is well liked and most preferred career options among the students of current generation. The variety of scopes as well as job prospects that are associated with MBA makes it even more desirable because it is a business oriented program, it will be of good help to students who wish to work with the big sectors. The many specializations available during the course make it more interesting.

So MBA degree not only gives an edge over others for finding a job but also for having your own business. Scope of opportunities widens with this degree. Degree of MBA adds to theconfidence of the candidates looking for a lucrative opportunity.

Hello My Dear...

Firstly I myself got confused reading your question and I think you have mentioned the reverse way what you wish to ask. You have asked whether you should opt for MBA instead of BMS and also should you complete BCom or go directly for post graduation. I believe my colleague Ms. Jyoti Dhingra must also have noticed this and has answered it the right way. I would also do the same on my part and would take it as a supposition that you wish to ask whether there is any other course apart from MBA after BMs or BCom.

Just to clarify, any post graduation course can be done only after completing graduation from a specific field. so for doing MBA one needs be a graduate in either arts, commerce or science or engineerin or doctor, etc. BMS and BCom are tow different courses but you have mentioned both of them in your query so I am not able to get which graduation course you are actually doing currently. However this wont matter for the reason mentioned above.

I am glad that you approached CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and clarification ony oru confusion.

Selecting a post graduation option should never be blind or by following the herd mentality or by peer pressure or parental pressure or by hype or media gimmicks.

I would suggest you to first check within yourself which area interests you, your passion, your personality, your strengths, your capabilities, etc. Knowing all these is very important since if one pursues a career based on these factors, then that person is surely to succeed and grow. If not done, then it is certain to be repenting in future.

MBA is definitely a good option but see to it that you do from a really top rated institute.

Best Luck
