First upon, you need to know the fact that the Percentile system of scoring does not depend on how many questions one is able to attend but on the collective performance of all the competitors  who appear in the related exam. There are many Business Schools in India like IIMs and other which impart admissions for students on the basis of percentile score obtained in concerned exams like CAT, etc. The Aspirants appear in the exam and their performance in that entrance exam measured in the percentile system.

Let us know about Percentile System. For certain observations or for scoring purpose, the all such observations/score falls under 100 percentile which means it contains all the specified groups of observations collectively make the complete 100 percentile. By the term Percentile, it implies that for the specific percentile, that specific percentage of observations falls under it. For example, when we talk about the 89 %ile, we mean that 89% observations of the group fall under the level of 89%ile level.

You want to know about approximately how many questions are required to be attended to score 99 Percentile. I just mentioned above that this will depend upon a collective performance of other candidates in that specific exam/survey. For getting 99 Percentile score in the specific exam does mean that 99 % of the candidates who have appeared in the same exam will fall under this level. Which means you will be ahead of the other 99% candidates which again implies that you will be in top 1% students who scored highest than the others. In India, IIM’s (Indian Institute of Management) admissions are done on the basis of the percentile score in the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam. The percentile score always plunges higher and higher near to 99%ile which depicts that all candidates are scoring well in this exam. So for getting you in the position attaining 99 Percentile, you need to study hard as you are aspiring to be one among the top 1% finishers in that specific exam.
