There are a number of options available to you if you want to work as a free lancer as an animator. You just have to look for the right opportunities and you can have a wonderful career. Below is the information provided to you that would be very helpful if you are looking to pursue career in animation as a free lancer:

1. You will have to build contacts in the media world. This would be the only way to get the projects and hence start working as a free lancer. Remember you will have hard time getting the projects, specially during the initial period. You need to have the right contacts with right people who can refer you in certain projects. Without networking it would be difficult for you to get any work.

2. The professionalism has to be maintained by the free lancer. This is because while working independently you often lose the professionalism and start taking things candidly. This can seriously affect your reputation if you do not show the proper professionalism in front of the clients. You need to be careful about it and thus be at your best behavior with the clients.

3. While working with any organization as an animator, they will provide you all the necessary tools, technologies and the software. However when you will be working as a free lancer you may not be able to afford the costly tools. This may affect the kind of clients that you might otherwise get. Thus you need to be very careful about the technology that you choose as per the budget you have. You should not be left behind in the race just because you do not have the right tool.

4. You need to polish your skills really well and work on self learning. You can also take the courses from time to time to learn new things. As a free lancer it is very important that you never stop learning. Although you will have a disadvantage that you won't be able to learn from your peers as there won't be any but you will have to compensate for that by learning additionally on your own.
