Well, let us know about an Executive MBA. This management course has got currency nowadays though it is available since many years back. The name of the Course itself hints it clearly, what it could mean for. An Executive MBA (EMBA) is basically a management course of simply a post-graduate level and is designed to cater to the needs of the working professionals, executives, business runners, CEOs and HR personnel who have currently been in some profession and want to grow their businesses or works attuned to the market demands to prosper at large. The candidates, who get admissions for EMBA, might be in their mid-career with the practical experience of management. You know, many of the executives tend to have an EMBA at some point of time in their career to learn new market techniques, prevalent trends and much more.

Overview/Nature of the EMBA Course:

The course lets you bridge the theory and practice and implement it in your organization for getting a new momentum and to put your organization at next level. The EMBA course is altogether different from the traditional MBA and has a somewhat flexible schedule. You will have to attend the institution on weekly basis or some 4 to 5 days continuously in a month for 12 to 18 months of period. So you need not quit your current job and you can easily pursue your course with great flexibility.

 

Admission requirements:

Admission procedure is a simple one. Just decide beforehand from which institution/university, you would like to get your EMBA degree. You will find the admission requirements on a website of the concerned institution/university. Many of the Institutions may require you to have some experience at managerial level, say minimum 5 to 7 years (IIT Bombay made it compulsory for students who want to be admitted for EMBA, to have minimum 7 years of experience including 5 years of Managerial Experience). Below are some of the guidelines in general for admission requirements.

  • The candidates should have valid Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized institute/university
  • A candidate with strong communication and interpersonal skill along with a command over spoken and written English will be preferred
  • Basic/functional computer skill are required (An IIT Bombay has specified this specific requirement in their guidelines)
  • A candidate must possess work experience at managerial level. (This is the essential criteria for selection procedure
  • If you are an employee then the recommendation certificate from your employer is needed
  • The candidates are supposed to have leadership potential, maturity required for managerial roles, previous achievements, positive perspective/attitude, etc.

Above are some of the admission criteria for the Executive MBA course and is subject to change Institution to Institution. The admissions are made online directly after fulfillment of criteria and payment of fees. Generally, there is no Entrance exam for this course but some institutions conduct their own. A face to face personal interview will have a much importance getting you a seat for the EMBA.
