Budget Analyst, as the name suggest is basically someone who helps in budgeting in layman term.


Any organization majorly faces an issue as to how to effectively distribute limited financial resources. A Budget Analyst plays a crucial role in terms of development, analysis and execution of budget, which are then used to allocate current resources and estimate future financial requirements.

Budget Analysts have many responsibility but major tasks involves providing advise and technical assistance in preparation of annual budget. At the beginning of each budget cycle, managers submit operational financial plans to a budget analysts for reviews who give suggestions regarding funds increase and new initiative estimated cost and expenses and capital expenses need to finance this program.

Budget analysts can find jobs in any organizations right from government firms to private to NGO.
Mostly any Graduate degree is sufficient to work as a Budget analysts, but since it deals with manipulating numbers, and strong analytic skills, a degree in Statistic could be beneficial.
There is no fixed timing and they mainly work in an office setting and independently, but need to work on a strict timeline and period.
Since Financial analysis is automated these days, familiarity with word processing, and financial software package mainly used like electronic spreadsheet, database and graphic program is a skills every Budget analysts must possess, so such computer languages must be learnt.
